What is this blog about?
I can not call myself a professional writer, you have to get paid for that. Most of my writing experience comes from the contribution of fictional stories for a particular website. Unfortunately, many of those stories were lost and I find myself starting over again on this blog.
When I started playing Ultima Online I would buy the little blue books you can get from the NPC merchants, and I kept a journal of the early days of my first characters. Those were the rough-and-tumble days, before Trammel and Felucca, when a trip outside the city gates to chop wood could mean sudden death. Before insurance, before houses secure as a bank vault.
I wrote of my first death (by jackrabbit), my friends and adventures. Hunting tips and so many things that nobody would ever see since those books were mine alone with no way to share them. Once, someone broke into the chests at my house and looted everything. When they realized the books were my personal journals, they returned them. They kept the rest of the stuff, of course but the gesture of returning my books took the edge off the loss of gold and loot. If I find copies of the old stories recounting my experiences on Ultima Online I will re-post them here. Perhaps after a little editorial spit-and-polish.
This blog will not be limited to stories from the worlds of Sosaria. I want to build my skills as a writer. Perhaps tossing in the odd short story. Science Fiction, Fantasy and maybe if I feel courageous, non-fiction.
I invite your comments, criticism, grammatical corrections or whatever you feel like saying. Sarcasm and rudeness are the exceptions to this invitation.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. I hope you enjoy the blog.
